Is latex mattress fit Singapore weather ( hot & humid ) ?

Latex has an open-cell structure, the regular pinholes in natural latex mattress ensures good airflow and ventilation, making it ideal for our humid weather in Singapore. Unlike synthetic memory foam mattresses that tend to trap body heat.

Which method of producing latex is better, Dunlop or Talalay?

The Dunlop method is more eco-friendly and requires less processing, with less energy used, and yet creates a denser, firmer, and generally more durable latex. The raw latex is whipped into froth and baked in steam moulds. dormiente mattress are produced using the Dunlop method.

Is there any added chemicals or synthetic materials?

No, at dormiente we do not use any synthetic materials in our products. Being a Germany Green Brand Award winner, our products are tested to be free of 200 types of harmful residues to ensure that you are able to sleep healthily, free of formaldehyde and toxic chemicals, as we sleep 6 to 8 hours daily.

How to select a suitable mattress firmness?

We have 7-zones support mattress that are body specific for female and male, in different firmness of soft / medium / firm. During mattress consultation, our sleep experts will discuss body profiles, pain points, and how to select suitable pillow and mattress firmness based on different sleeping positions. Do latex mattresses require flipping or rotating?

Our 7-zone mattress are symmetrical in design, and we recommend regular flipping or rotation, lengthwise or top and bottom. This ensures hygiene as well as not the same side is used all the time.

How do I maintain my latex mattress?

To maintain the mattress quality and supportness, Suggest to flip/rotate every 6 month (June/December) so that each side is only use times in 1 year. Our mattress design is 4 sides can be flip , front & back, head & toe.

How do I clean and care for a latex mattress?

Flipping or rotating the latex, maintaining the cleanliness of the organic mattress cover and beddings will provide a clean and healthy sleeping environment.

If I just want to have your mattress, does its require a special bed base?

Yes, A flexible and slatted bed base will be good as it can make the mattress benefit more better. A solid plank bed base will make the mattress more harder.

Does organic latex have any off-gassing?

No! Product from Dormiente we don’t use any chemicals for any of our items, it is toxic free and environmental friendly.

Is latex mattress suitable for people with allergies?

Natural latex is hypoallergenic, naturally anti-dust mite, mildew, mould-resistant without requiring chemicals, making it ideal for allergy sufferers. Dormiente mattresses are tested to be free of 200 harmful chemicals.

Can someone be allergic to natural latex?

Latex allergy is a contact allergy, some people develop skin rashes or itch when using latex gloves, balloons or condoms, as these are often coated with chemicals. With modern production methods, risk to latex allergy is low. Latex is also covered with inner and outer mattress covers, mattress protector and bedsheets when you sleep.

Do you offer 100-day trial?

We don’t do trial for customer, we allow customer to book 1 hr private trial with us and we let the customer sleep as much as they need to understand the product difference.

What's your mattress warranty?

Warranty for mattress is 10 yrs, with the flip/rotate maintenance, it can last to 10 years and above.

What certifications verify the organic nature of the latex? (e.g., GOLS, Oeko-Tex)

We have Oko-Test, GOLS for Latex and GOTS for our Organic Cotton.

What other materials are used in the mattress, and are they also organic? (e.g., organic cotton, wool)

For Mattress materials we have : Organic Latex for the mattress core, and Organic Cotton cover with Pur new wool inside for plushy and dry function.

Where is the latex sourced from?

Our Latex is from Srilanka, our own plantation.

Is latex suitable for different sleeping positions (side, back, stomach)?

Yes, latex is highly flexible and able to conform to different body shapes and the spine, provides great pressure relief, making it suitable for different sleeping positions. Our 7-zone support mattress are ideal for those with neck or shoulder strain, back pain, scoliosis or slip disc.

How does latex contour to the body and provide pressure relief?

With our 5&7 Zones V shape and 1cm incision cut design , your body heavy weight part will be well rested on each zone, so it can contour to your body shape and provide pressure relief.

Is latex good for people with back pain or other medical conditions?

Yes, Latex mattress is suitable for people who have back pain or medical conditions, with its natural durability , it will bounce back to the shape easily and still support the body. And for back pain is actually the pillow and mattress isn’t suitable for the person, so our service is to help you find the correct pillow and mattress to solve the problem.

Are the mattress protectors waterproof?

No , it is not , but the material is thick enough to make sure it won’t goes to other side .

How do I select a mattress when my partner and I like different firmness?

This is common situation faced by many couples. At dormiente, we have female and male body specific 7-zone mattress that caters to this need for different orthopaedic support and firmness.

Should I choose a 190cm or 200cm length for my mattress?

Anyone who is 170cm and above should be using a 200cm length mattress, to prevent your legs from dangling outside of mattress, causing lower back pain, and avoid sleeping with shoulders on the pillow to gain more space. 200cm mattress length (EU size) is used commonly in Singapore these days to be aligned to international sizing. At dormiente, both SG and EU sizes are available, with no price differentials.

How durable is a latex mattress?

Which bed base is better – slatted or solid plank?

When it comes to supporting a latex mattress, the right bed base is crucial for both comfort and longevity. A flexible slatted bed ensure even weight pressure distribution to relief pressure from sensitive areas like neck, shoulder and back. Slatted bed bases also provide good ventilation for mattress.

Solid planks lack flexibility to conform to body shape and spine, causing unnecessary arching in the spine and lower back, and results in shoulder compression when sleeping on the side.

What type of slatted base is the best?

Dormiente bed frames and sofa beds are handcrafted with FSC certified solid wood from Germany, using interlocking wood and dowel joints to ensure durability. Our beds are finished in natural plant oil, beewax or organic cotton to provide a healthy and toxic free sleeping environment, without formaldehyde or chemical off-gassing.

How long does it last? Warranty?

Our bed frame is using interlocking structure, so can hold up to 45 kg, and is design for 20 yrs above use

Does it easy to crack?

We use solid wood , and wood joint wood structure, no nails only bolds, so no it won’t crack
