Choosing the correct pillow is a major factor in achieving healthy sleep but is often underestimated. From an orthopaedic perspective, a pillow should hold your head and enable your cervical spine to stay in its natural position, in a relaxed manner. dormiente pillows are made of 100% pure natural latex and removable organic hemp and cotton covers, with no synthetic materials. Our pillows are height adjustable to suit the needs of different neck and shoulder profiles and different sleeping positions. Comfort, temperature balance and good moisture absorption are important criteria to enable comfortable sleep throughout the humid nights in Singapore.
Personal preferences, such as having your head in an elevated position, are often counterproductive to healthy sleep. You also have to take into account your actual position during sleep. Waking up every morning with stiffness and tension in your neck and shoulders may indicate incorrect positioning of your head during sleep.
Pillow Size Matters
Dormiente pillows are ideally sized in 40x80cm, as the recommended size by many orthopaedists and physiotherapists. To ensure that your mattress can optimally support your shoulders, only your head and neck should be touching your pillow. This is not the case for bigger pillows, such as 80x80cm, where part of your upper body is resting on the pillow. When pillows are narrower than 80cm, individuals with broad shoulders tend to prop up their pillows with their arms, causing compression or pain in neck and shoulders.
Keep A Cool Head
Make sure that your head and neck area is kept in a healthy micro-climate. Perspiration occurs quickly, especially in this area, which is why a pillow needs to be made from materials that can effectively absorb moisture and release it in the form of gas. This way you don’t start to sweat. Natural materials such as cotton are particularly good at this, synthetic materials much less so.
Keeping Your Pillow Clean
All Dormiente pillows are equipped with an additional, washable cover made from high purity 100% organic cotton and hemp, ideal for those with allergies.

The natural latex pillow core does not require regular cleaning. For routine maintenance, simply remove and wash the pillow cover according to the care instructions. You may also air the pillow occasionally in a well-ventilated indoor space.
Yes. Our organic cotton pillow covers are washable. We recommend washing them using a gentle cycle with mild detergent and cool or lukewarm water. Avoid high-temperature washing and tumble drying, as excessive heat may cause shrinkage.
No. We do not recommend exposing natural latex to direct sunlight. Natural latex is derived from the rubber tree and is naturally resistant to dust mites and mould. Prolonged exposure to ultraviolet (UV) rays can cause the latex to deteriorate and shorten its lifespan.
A high-quality natural latex pillow can last significantly longer than conventional pillows. Depending on usage and care, most natural latex pillows can provide excellent support and comfort for many years.
We recommend replacing your pillow when it no longer provides adequate support, comfort, or hygiene. Regular use of a washable pillow protector can help extend its lifespan.
Young children generally require minimal pillow height because their skeletal structure is still developing. A low-profile, appropriately sized pillow is usually sufficient to support healthy spinal alignment and sleeping posture.
If you are unsure, our sleep specialists can advise on the most suitable pillow based on your child’s age and sleeping habits.
For hygiene reasons, pillows are considered personal-use items and cannot be returned or exchanged once purchased.
If you require assistance selecting the most suitable pillow, we encourage you to book a pillow fitting consultation before making your purchase.
